Help the Environment and Reduce Oil Dependency

Freight Wing™ Incorporated was awarded a stage one "Inventions and Innovations" grant from the U.S. Department of Energy in 2003, due to the concepts potential to significantly reduce U.S. oil consumption and emissions. With proven products, the DOE then awarded our company a $250,000 second stage grant to help realize their potential through a fleet trial program.  Over 25 fleets have participated in this groundbreaking program and the results have been overwhelmingly positive resulting in multiple fleet implementations.  North of the border, Transport Canada recently awarded Freight Wing a 70,000CA grant to provide Canadian fleets with the opportunity to evaluate our products.  Our work in Canada has been well received, with participating fleets reporting positive savings and adding additional aerodynamic trailers to their fleet. trailer skirt

Freight Wing™ trailers have been proven to reduce the fuel consumption, and hence emissions, of semi-trucks by 6% in SAE/TMC J1321 standardized tests. Each gallon of diesel fuel produces over 22 pounds of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide (CO2) when burned in an engine. Consequently, each vehicle equipped with our system saves approximately 11 tons of emissions every 100,000 miles, a distance many trucks travel annually. Our products can therefore help fleets qualify for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) SmartWay Transport Initiative, a voluntary program aiming to eliminate 33 to 66 million metric toms of emissions annually by 2012.
